The narrow stone interior staircase leads from the (former) washing room to the second floor small landing. This stairway was most probably added when the back house was constructed. Before that the only access to the second floor must have been via the tower stairway. We disclosed its stone steps and rebuilt the staircase’s interior when we redid the façade. Also we enlarged the head room by one beam and added an iron cross bar on a pillar to support the weight of the bathroom floor, now floating in one corner.
