small terrace behind the house interwhite
A small terrace remains of what once was an outside toilet and probably some storage shed (above). Below is the part which changed most: the façade renewed, roof renewed, doors and windows changed or added. After, on the ground floor is situated a shower-toilet, with a bathroom on the second floor. interwhite

EXTERIOR SPACES

RdC / courtyard
The cour commune or public/common courtyard is shared by those who live on it: the Sirdey family (an elderly mother and her two middle-aged daughters); who use storage space on it (Mr. Bideux, the electrician and plumber) and Mr. Bris (the shoe shop owner); or have a garage here: the owner of the corner café.

Our former café’s annex on its left side has a small terrace, catching early morning sun. This part of the building undergoes a major make-over to situate a ground floor shower-toilet and second floor bathroom with a bath and double washing stand. Here we keep the existing fireplace.

Before arranging the bathrooms however we remove the old drafty façade, which remains open for some chilly 4 winter months, only due to bureaucratic hairsplitting: the license to construct a new façade did not include a license to bring down the existing one... who would have thought? We did take it down but are forced to submit a new request. There was this story with the Sirdey eldest daughter and mother, about possibly building 15cm. into the courtyard, however. They stirred things up a bit. Oh well.
